Not for Sale – Artist’s Collection
The below pieces are part of my personal collection and are not available for purchase. Some hold special meaning, others mark key moments in my creative journey.
I’m sharing them here simply for you to enjoy.
Radiance of the Sea - a moment when light dances across the water, vibrant and alive. This piece captures the bold, radiant spirit of the ocean at its most brilliant. Markers on paper – 8 × 10 in – 2025. Based on an artwork found on Pinterest. Original artist unknown.
Sailing into the Light - A quiet journey across still waters, chasing the last golden light of day. The sailboat drifts steadily toward a horizon filled with colour and promise. Markers on paper – 8 × 12 in – 2025. Based on an artwork found on Pinterest. Original artist unknown.
Reflections of a Golden Dawn - Before the first light touches the horizon, the sea stirs quietly under a golden sky. A moment of stillness — the promise of a day yet to begin. Markers on paper – 8 × 12 in – 2025. Based on an artwork from Palak StudioInk (palakstudioink.com).
Whispers of the Morning Tide - Before the world awakens, the sea speaks in soft tides and tender light. Markers on paper – 8 × 12 in – 2025. Based on an artwork by GiosStudioNYC (etsy.com/shop/GiosStudioNYC)
Lanterns at Dusk. Painted in 2014, this piece was inspired by a photograph by Frankie Chu (https://flickr.com/photos/frankie_chu/4830968197). Even after all these years, it reminds me of the quiet strength in everyday moments - the lantern light, the stillness, the rhythm of work at dusk. Sharing now with gratitude and appreciation. Gouache on paper – 55 x 37 cm – 2014.
My cats - Scratch and Tamina. Pencil on paper - A5 size - 2014. Inspired by picture sourced from internet.
Hidden Courtyard. Gouache on stretched canvas - 30.2 x 39.6 cm - 2014. Reference picture from internet.
A Sail into Light. Gouache on canvas - 4 x 6 in - 2013. Painted a few years ago and given to my husband as a gift - it's been on his work desk ever since. Inspired by the luminous seascapes of Leonid Afremov, this piece was a quiet gesture of affection and appreciation. Not for sale. Original artistic style and composition by Leonid Afremov.
The White-Chested Watcher. This was the first birthday gift I painted for my husband - a tribute to his cat Scratch - a black feline with a soft white chest. The scene draws from Kiki's Delivery Service (1989), with original characters and setting by Studio Ghibli. Painted for love and memory. Shared here with gratitude. Gouache on canvas - 6.5cm x 6.5cm - 2012.
Echoes of Autumn - gouache on canvas, 2015. This piece was inspired by the vibrant colors and dreamy atmosphere of Leonid Afremov’s oil paintings. Using gouache, I wanted to capture the glowing light, winding path, and autumn leaves - blending water’s movement with the warmth of the forest. Painted with love and memory, this work reminds me how nature’s beauty can light up even the quietest corners.
Impressions from Memory. These monochrome ink artworks pay homage to the traditional woodcut printmaking style I first encountered during my childhood in my hometown. With striking contrasts and rhythmic lines, they evoke a quiet narrative: a solitary bridge bathed in moonlight, a lone rider weaving through a grove of trees. While rendered with pen, the deliberate mark-making and tonal cuts echo the carving tools and printing blocks of old, blending personal memory with visual storytelling. These pieces are not prints - they are meditations in ink, shaped by hand but steeped in the spirit of the woodblock. Inspired by pictures from internet. Ink on paper - A4 size - 2013.
Among Mountains and Branches, Ink on paper 8.3 x11.7 in, 2014. Reference picture: 1984_River Reflections, Photo by Don Hong-Oai (Chinese, 1929-2004), 24.1 x 18.4 cm.
Golden Harvest, gouache on paper 44 x 32 cm, 2005. This is my first ever gouache painting.
Summer’s Bounty, Gouache on paper 51 x 37 cm, 2005. This is my second gouache painting. My teacher helped a bit with the watermelon colour - I was having a hard time making the watermelon look sweet.
The Aura of Autumn, triplet set (copy of Leonid Afremov's work). Pencil and charcoal on paper, 2013.
Beijing Hutong, pencil and charcoal on paper, A5 size, 2013. Inspired by picture sourced from internet.
I did this ink work on paper in the first month of the Year of Horse, 2014. A4 size. I messed up the legs.
My Cats at the Cottage Window - Scratch and Tamina. Their favourite spot was this benchtop on the window of our farm house back in the time. I captured this moment with pencil in my sketch paper book - 2014.
Garden Rose, pencil on paper, approx A6 size, 2014. Reference photo from the internet (Garden Rose and Blue Forget-Me-Nots in a Vase by Gustave Caillebotte)
The Hill, gouache on paper, approx A5 size, 2013. This piece is a gouache reinterpretation of an oil painting by a Tasmanian artist whose name, regrettably, I can no longer recall.
